AquaPhenol is supplied ready to use for RNA purification and can be quickly pH-adjusted for DNA purification using the pH Maker solutions provided (pH 7.5 and pH 8.0). AquaPhenol contains no antio x idant or other additives.
Ready Red is a proprietary mi x ture of chloroform and isoamylalcohol that can be used to remove traces of phenol from the aqueous phase or can be mi x ed directly with AquaPhenol (void volume in AquaPhenol bottle is adapted to this purpose). ReadyRed improves the recovery of nucleic acids during phenol e x tractions by making it much easier to visually distinguish the organic and aqueous phases. The red color (an insoluble, harmless dye compound) does not affect the quality of e x tracted DNA and can be adapted to any e x isting phenol e x traction protocol.
Aqua Phenol/Ready-Red kits are combination packs containing two bottles of Ready-Red for every bottle of AquaPhenol.
