BetaMa x is e x cellent for samples completely dried that have been recovered on filters of all types. Some membrane filters can be dissolved in 1-2mL of methyl cellosolve which can be mi x ed with 10-15mL of BetaMa x ES for optimum recovery. Free lipids and steroids can be e x tracted from an aqueous sample by simply adding the aqueous sample to the BetaMa x ES and allowing the organic soluble components to migrate across the partition. This usually occurs in appro x imately 30 minutes at room temperature.
