PowerDsine’s 8000 Midspan family provides up to 39W power over standard Ethernet cabling to high power consumption terminals, as well as 802.3af standard devices.

The 8000 High Power Midspan series eliminates the need for external power supply and its associated AC/DC power cabling while providing safe and reliable means for powering high power consumption Ethernet devices such as PTZ network cameras and multi-channel wireless LAN access points.

Note: A PoE Midspan (PoE injector) resides between the Ethernet switch and the data terminals, delivering data, along with power, from switch to powered devices. It is a highly effective means for injecting power into LAN cables.

• Remote Power Feeding - PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 Midspans eliminate the need for external power supply and its associated AC/DC power cabling, thus providing a highly cost-effective, safe and reliable means for remote powering of terminals with high and non-standard high power consumption, such as Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) Network Cameras, Multi Channel Wireless LAN Access Points and RFID Readers.
• Keep the Existing Infrastructure - PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 High Power over Ethernet Midspan family connects to an existing Ethernet infrastructure via standard Category 5/5e/6 cabling, and delivers on four pairs, up to 39W power thus enabling the upgrade of the network to PoE while keeping the existing switch. PowerDsine PD-AS-801 Active Splitter may be installed where and end terminal is not standard-compliant.
• Standard Compliance - PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 Midspans are designed to meet the IEEE 802.3af standard requirements, powering both IEEE 802.3af standard-compliant equipment devices, as well as high power ones.
• Easy Integration - The 8012/8006/8001 High Power Midspans can be installed in conjunction with the PowerDsine PD-AS-801 Active Splitter providing Power over Ethernet technology to legacy equipment with high power consumption, such as PTZ cameras, without making any modifications to the terminals.
• Scalable Solution - The PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 High Power Midspans support one, six or twelve Ethernet terminals. Multiple midspans can be mounted in a wiring closet to support additional terminals, resulting in a simple, cost effective method for expanding the network, as requirements evolve.
• Centralized Power Distribution - PowerDsine 8012/8006/8001 Midspans provide a cost-effective way to distribute power and ensure uninterrupted operation of the network during electrical power failure, when connected with a central UPS.
