Description:
NOTE: This version of the Mediatrix 1104 is especially configured for use with the Talkswitch PBX system, and designed for use as an integral part of a branch VOIP solution based on the Talkswitch. Reduce your long-distance bills and make the most of your broadband connection. With the TalkSwitch branch VoIP solution, the power of TalkSwitch is extended over the Internet, allowing you to connect branch offices and teleworkers in distant locations without paying long-distance charges. The VoIP-enhanced TalkSwitch converges the traditional telephone network with the Internet to deliver the best of both worlds.
The Talkswitch branch VOIP solution combines the proven strengths of Talkswitch phone systems with the advantages of IP telephony. With its seamless convergence of traditional and IP connections, the solution delivers affordable brand-to-branch connectivity to very small businesses. Companies equipped with the new solution can also access emerging network-based services. The solution connects Talkswitch phone systems to the IP network through a broadband connection with voice gateways for fully converged communication.
The Mediatrix® 1104 is a VoIP access device equipped with four FXS ports, one 10/100 BaseT Ethernet port and one PSTN bypass port. It connects analog phones or fax machines and legacy PBX and Key Systems to an IP telephony network. The bypass line is activated during a network failure or a power outage. The Mediatrix 1104 is functionally designed for desktop or wiring closet installation and is an ideal enterprise CPE platform for integration with an existing IP telephony architecture.
Protecting Investment:
The Mediatrix 1104® protects customer investment in existing analog devices (phones/faxes) by connecting up to four phones and/or faxes to an enterprise or carrierbased VoIP network. This allows the Mediatrix 1104 to protect the investment in handsets, typically one of the most expensive parts of a network. For enterprise end-users, the Mediatrix 1104 provides a simple, transparent and cost-effective migration to an IP-based telephony infrastructure without the need to discard existing analog devices.
The Mediatrix 1104 also provides IP connectivity to analog CO trunk ports of a PBX or analog CO line ports of a Key System to IP-enable legacy telephone systems ? allowing legacy system users to take advantage of VoIP benefits.
Applications:
For service providers, carriers and system integrators, the Mediatrix 1104 creates additional revenue-generating opportunities by immediately bringing existing enterprise users online to new high-value IP telephony services. As a cost-effective solution, the Mediatrix 1104 is ideal for connecting enterprises to IP Centrex or hosted services deployed by carriers or service providers. System integrators can deploy the devices as part of a private end-to-end IP telephony solution.
The Mediatrix 1104 makes use of existing broadband access equipment to connect to any standards-based VoIP network. In addition to interfacing with legacy telephone systems, the Mediatrix 1104 also interfaces with IP-based telephone systems by connecting analog phones and fax machines to an IP-PBX or IP-Key System. Plus, the Mediatrix 1104 offers full integration with the Mediatrix IP Communication Server resulting in an end-to-end converged
enterprise solution.
