Features:
Using the Handset Adapter To Copy Voice Messages Onto Your Voice Processing System
The Handset Adapter / Audio Coupler works on all analog telephones and on most digital telephones. We recommend using an analog telephone for best results. Do not use a telephone with the buttons in the handset; they must be in the base.
Put the small selector switch in the "Play" position. The telephone handset mike is muted, so any room noises will not be recorded. You can hear normally through the handset.
Remember, you are putting the voice prompts into your system through the handset port, just as if you recorded them yourself.
"Connect to recorder jack" in the diagram refers to the output from a CD or tape player. It does not need to be mounted to a telephone.
To connect to a telephone: -
Unplug handset coil cord at the base of the telephone.
-
Plug the short modular cord into the modular jack from which you removed the coil cord.
-
Plug the handset coil cord into the modular jack on the TMP-600.
-
Set the volume control on the tape player or your CD player to a comfortable listening volume.
-
Insert the mini plug on the long cord into the audio output jack on the tape player or your CD player. It is usually labeled "monitor."
To copy voice messages onto your system using a CD: -
Be sure to have your written script in front of you.
-
Prompts may be loaded either from a laptop or a PC, or a CD player. CD players give you less control of the timing of starting and stopping, so we recommend a using a computer. Windows Media Player gives you better control than Quicktime.
-
Call in to your system just as you normally would to record a new message. When your system prompts you to begin speaking, just start playing the desired message on the CD.
At the end of the message, press whichever telephone button your system uses to end the message.
-
Play the message on your system to ensure correct volume and that you did not clip off the very beginning or the end.
-
Continue copying until all messages are done.
-
Test to ensure that all messages are loaded in the correct places.
-
Keep your CD and adapter as a backup.
To copy voice messages onto your system using a tape player: -
Cue the tape to the first message, right after you hear the beep. Use the PAUSE button for this, not the stop button. This will prevent any clicks or pops from occurring.
-
Call in to your system just as you normally would to record a new message. When your system prompts you to begin speaking, simply press PAUSE and the tape will begin loading onto your system.
-
At the end of the message, end the recording by pressing whichever key your system uses to stop recording; press PAUSE to stop the tape.
-
