Eppendorf Safe-Lock Tubes combine the experience of over 45 years of constant improvement and development. The original Eppendorf Safe-Lock Tube gives samples outstanding stability during centrifugation, perfect sealing and evaporation protection. The hinged lid on Eppendorf® Safe-Lock tubes provides outstanding protection against accidental opening of tube lids ensuring absolute sample protection. This feature is especially important when working with precious samples or hazardous materials like radioactive probes, virus samples, or buffers containing detergents such as SDS.
These tubes provide exceptional centrifugation stability of up to 30, 000 x g (70, 000 x g in form-fitting rotor) preventing tube breakage. This stops sample loss and offers extra safety when working with hazardous samples. Chemicals released from different brands of tubes can contaminate samples. Eppendorf Safe-Lock tubes are manufactured without the use of slip agents, plasticizers and biocides. These are substances that have been shown to affect bioassays.
Eppendorf’s vast experience in precision molding guarantees a perfect fit of the tube lids to minimize sample evaporation. There is also no chance of accidental lid opening. A large, frosted lid surface makes for easy labeling. Tubes can be used for long-term storage with the lowest evaporation rates possible. Polypropylene also provides high resistance to chemicals, mechanical stress, and temperature extremes.
Graduations provide an easy volume reference. They have guaranteed functionality between –86°C to 100°C. Tubes are autoclavable when open at 121°C for 20 minutes.
Safe-Lock Tubes are available in Eppendorf Quality, PCR Clean, and Biopur® purity levels.
Eppendorf Quality Safe-Lock tubes are manufactured under clean room conditions and used in basic applications such as enzymatic digestion, plasmid DNA isolation, sample, and reagent storage.
PCR Clean Safe-Lock tubes are batch-certified free from DNA, DNase, RNase, and PCR inhibitors. These tubes are ideal for RNA applications, isolation and analysis of genomic DNA and preparation of samples for PCR or real-time PCR samples.
Biopur® Safe-Lock tubes are batch-certified from PCR inhibitors, DNA, DNase, RNase, ATP, endotoxins and are individually wrapped and sterile. They are the highest purity grade perfect for pharmaceutical, medical, and forensic applications as well as for work with endotoxin-sensitive cell cultures. Key Features
